PetSafe Stubborn Dog In-Ground Radio Fence System
The PetSafe In-Ground Radio Fence has been designed to be safe, comfortable, and effective for hard-to-train pets over 8 pounds in weight.
The system works delivering mild static correction through two contacts points on a receiver collar your dog wears on his neck. You'll need to install an underground fence by burying the included boundary wire and flags.
Your pet is allowed to freely roam within a safe area that you establish. If your pet crosses the established barrier, a correction will be sent to get your pet's attention, but will not harm him.
The collar also features a tone plus vibration only mode for effective pet training.
* Covers up to 10 acres with additional wire and flags original
system includes adequate boundary wire and flags fro 1/3 acre.
*Reciever specially designed for stubbon dogs with five levels of correction.
* Low battery indicator
* Tone and Vibration for training the dog attached to water proof collar adjustable fro 6-28"
* Step-by-Step Installation and Training DVD (English Only) Operating & Training Guide Other items you may need for installation

Electronic Dog Fence - Keeping Your Mutt Safe But Giving Him Freedom To Roam Where You Want
Are you finding it hard to keep your dog happy but confined within your property? If you are maybe you should consider buying a Electronic Dog Fence which will stop your dog wandering off and getting in to trouble. Don't fret it's not as difficult as you might imagine and can give both you and your dog piece of mind.
The concept of electric dog fences was first introduced almost 40 years ago by Richard Peck who patented the original idea sicne then many variations has sprung up as technology has improved and the price of producing such as system has fallen dramatically. Many companies both in the US and elsewhere no make and for those who want them can instal such a system. Using this clever idea the owner of the dog is able to quickly leave their dog loose in the garden without having to worry about it coming to harm or causing damage to anyone else or their property.
Now this all sounds well and good but what about the cost of such a system you might imagine they might be very expensive but you would be shocked (excuse the pun) how cheaply these systems can be purchased both in stores and online.
Before we examine the costs let me make it clear what is meant by invisible fence and how such a fence works. Firstly as you might imagine from the name you can't see them and they work by fitting your dog with a cleverly designed radio controlled collar and a wire perimeter buried underground which you put in the area you want "fence" off. When the dog wearing the collar gets close to where the wire is buried it will usually hear a load beep telling it that it's venturing where it shouldn't. If the dog continues and breaks the perimeter the dog will then recieve a mild electric shock (similar to the electric shock given by collars used to stop dogs barking) .The shocks are very humane and cause a minor discomfort to the dog for a couple of seconds.
The principle is that slowly (actually quite quickly) learns through a process called conditioning. This means the dogs learns that when he does a specific action it learns the consequences of this action. Quite often the noise will enough to teach most dogs so that they rarely if ever get shocked. Manufacturers of these sort of devices recommend you supervise your dog for a while and use rewards when the dog stays within your pre defined boundry.
This process can take a few weekends or sometimes a dog will learn really quickly. Obviously a Bishon Frise needs a far lower level of shock to get the message than say a large German Shepherd so your system should be able to adjust the level of shock your animal will recieve and ideally this should be as low as it needs for your pet to get the message and no more.
A typical invisible fence system or and invisible electric fence kits includes a perimeter wire which has a transmitter attenna fitted and an electric dog collar fitted with a reciever unit. There are quite a large number of companies that can either sell you the equipment for doing it yourself or will fit a electronic dog fence for you. Make sure you shop around and find several companies if you want a system installed as prices for installation can vary quite significantly depending on the equipment being installed and the installation company.
The Typical Cost of an Electronic Dog Fence
There are predominately two ways of getting an invisible fence (electronic dog fence) Installed these are the typical costs.
1. Self Installation of your electronic dog fence: -You could buy an installation kit which will cost you in the region of $300-500 most of the kits are pretty simple to install and complete with everything you need or provide a list any extra's you might need to buy.If you have some basic DIY skills and the time to spend a few hours setting the system up this can save you quite a bit of money. If you find you don't have enough wire supplied with your kit you may need to buy extra wire but this should be accertained before you start the installation not during. I
2. Have a Electronic Dog Fence Installed:_ This option means you choose which kit you want (or leave it to your installer) install's can cost on the low side around $800 and up to $1500 and above for more top end systems. One advantage of getting the unit installed is you will learn from experienced people how exactly to use it and also they will do all the work for you.
If you have more than one dog you will need to buy extra collars typically these cost anything from about $35 upwards to around $150 depending on the type of unit and system being used. You may find it cheaper if you order extra collars at the same time and save on extra shipping costs.
If you compare the cost of the electronic pet system with other forms of fencing the costs is far lower and if you do the job yourself you'll make huge savings. Be aware that some cheaper units may not be suitable for larger dogs as the electric shock is not strong enough to deter the dog from straying so make sure where possible you test things fully before spending hours digging up lawns or moving plants.
Just one final thought your invisble pet fence for your dog will only keep your dog in and not keep other dogs out so if their are many stray dogs in your neighbourhood you might need to consider carefully your options.
